 Be Forewarned, Do Not Buy Jenn Air Products!!! - Appliances
I recently spent nearly $9000 on Jenn Air kitchen appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher & microwave) and boy do I regret it. I had called Jenn Air earlier that day and complained about the service problem I was having? An appointment was set up for Monday morning between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. I left the house at 11:30 and he still had not shown up or called. I am also having problems with one of the stoves burner (it takes 40 minutes to bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a 2 1/2 quart pan) and the ice dispenser on the fridge does not work. On my Friday phone call, Jenn Air had set up an appointment with a different company to take care of those problems. I will never buy or recommend Jenn Air products ever again. This company DOES NOT stand behind what they sell!!!

Palo Alto - Jenn-Air Electric Downdraft Range - CPU Has Failed Repeatedly - Jenn-Air Electric Downdraft Range
We purchased a Jenn-Air Electric Downdraft Range from Lowe's in May of 2006. Almost immediately, the control knobs began to get caught on everything, fall off and break. Then in 2008, the electronic control panel (CPU) malfunctioned. The part was replaced under warranty with the labor at our cost. This happened again in 2009 and it was replaced once again under warranty and with service at our cost. It has now happened a third time in early 2010. The electronics of the machine will be under warranty now only up until May of 2011, and we have little faith that the problem is permanently resolved. With a 4-1/2 year history of three (3) bad CPUs, it seems highly that this problem will recur, and the machine will be out of warranty at that point.

Jenn Air Junk (a real lemon) - Jenn Air Gas Range
Junk, junk, junk. I've already registered one complaint about this Jenn Air oven/stove, just 11 months ago, in March of 2010. Now, yesterday, the EXACT SAME THING broke again. This is the electronic push pad control for the oven. This has now broken 3 times in 5 years, and I have also had to have service calls on 2 other things breaking. FIVE MAJOR REPAIRS IN LESS THAN 5 YEARS ON A NEW RANGE! The most recent repair, OF THE EXACT SAME DEFECTIVE PIECE, in March of 2010, isn't under warranty because warranty is only for 90 days. It's expensive, over $300. I tried contacting Jenn Air the last time this broke, and basically they blew me off. They have no interest whatever in fixing their shoddy stuff. So, basically, I have the choice of a $350 repair AGAIN, or throwing out a range that isn't even 5 years old.

Woodside - Jenn-Air Dishwaher (JDB1100AWS) Has Control Panel Design Issues - JDB1100AWS
I purchased a JDB1100AWS (Jenn-Air Dishwasher) for $799.99 (on-sale) in 2007. It is a nice unit and one of the higher-end units, so I expect quality. ON 12/2/2009 I had to pay to replace control panel and cpu (cost $165 - labor only). ON 6/17/2010 I had to pay to replace control panel and cpu (cost $165-labor only). ON 4/6/2011 I just paid again to replace control panel and cpu (cost $165 - labor only).Within a short period of time, I have paid $495 in repairs to a unit that is not even 5 years old. I have replaced the same two parts THREE times in that period. THERE HAS TO BE A DEFECT of some sort.

Woodside - The refrigerator is not worth the $5,000 price tag
I bought this built in refrigerator when I built my house in 2005. It wasn't working properly from day one. The freezer leaked, the refrigerator goes into freeze mode or it won't stay at 32 degrees F. I have had every part replaced and it is on the brink again. I have all of the service tickets and this refrigerator has been worked on at least 10 times. I would not buy this unit or brand again and want to give other consumers warning. The company recommends A&E Factory service but the techs say this refrigerator is too complicated to work on. I also have had them tell me that it is a poor design. I am waiting for a tech now to fix it again. I have had to throw my food away multiple times. The amazing thing is I bought a $1,000 Whirlpool 10 years ago and it never needed any work done. Although the Jenn Air is a nice looking refrigerator from the outside its mechanical make-up on the inside is less than desirable. More expensive is not better. Stay away from this high end Jenn Air's. They are not worth the time and money.

Don't Buy Jennair
We just bought Jennairs latest oven and gas cook top with griddle, went way over are budget but I just had to have Jennair as I thought they were such good appliances, I was so wrong !!!!!Don't buy any thing they make!! We have had nothing but problems with both!!!!Save your money and buy wolf or another good brand you will save in the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Money Sucking Refrigerator - Jcd2389des Refrigerator Stainless Steel Side-by-si
It all started when my husband re-did our kitchen. He insisted on stainless steel appliances. We purchased a brand new, nice looking Jenn-Air stainless steel, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer model: JCD2389DES. I have had it repaired at several hundred dollars each time for the same thing. The freezer froze up and the refrigerator side would not cool and ultimately the ice maker and freezer would stop working. I used 2 different repair companies so I know that they were not at fault. The 1st time it broke was 2 years after I bought it. Then again 2 years later, then 3 years then 3 months after that. The repairman said it is worthless garbage and to replace it at this point. The cost of this unit was about 2,000 dollars. I have friends that have cheap ones that are older then mine and have never needed service. Stay away as I have seen MANY other similar reviews. This one is a lemon!

Palo Alto - Jenn Air Refrigerators are costly "Land Fill" - Jenn Air Refrigerator JCD 2389 DES
It all started years ago when I bought a Jenn Air convection oven that was wonderful. So, in 2000 or 2001, I purchased a stainless steel side by side Jenn Air refrigerator/freezer. I strongly recommend that no consumer purchase a Jenn Air product, ever.... This refrigerator is a nightmare. It was broken when it was delivered. The dealer would not accept a return. Said I had to deal with the manufacturer. It took over a month for the manufacturer to repair the refrigerator. (Who buys a refrigerator if you don't need it for a month?) The freezer works, BUT, the refrigerator has never cooled properly. When it does work, I have to keep the refrigerator full to keep the products cold. I keep filled gallon jugs in the freezer to help the refrigerator to cool. This is ACTUALLY the recommendation in the owner's manual. It is as though they already knew this refrigerator would not cool and give you tips to help you to overcome their inadequate design. The refrigerator breaks approximately once a year to eighteen months. The repairman and dealer claim that a refrigerator is designed to last only 8 years so that I already had my life expectancy out of it. This useless (but attractive) junk cost almost $2,000.00. As a result of this very unpleasant experience, I will never purchase a Jenn Air product again! BUYER BEWARE!!!! For your own sanity, I recommend that no one reading this ever purchase any Jenn Air product.

Palo Alto - Fridge Not Cooling - Refrigrator Model JCD 2389 DE
I purchased a Jenn air refrigerator in 2000 I have had nothing but problems with this unit from day one. Freezer stays cool refrigerator gets warm, and spoils milk, techs have been out several time, Jenn Air says we are sorry but its out of warranty so you will have to pay us, well I paid then 2 grand for this no count piece of junk. So if you are a smart person stay away from Maytag products.

Palo Alto - Jenn Air - Gas Range needs service technician again
I have a Jenn Air gas range that is less than 4 years old. It has been a complete lemon. I have now had 6 significant service problems, which have cost $600-800. I contacted Jenn Air and told them I thought the stove was defective. Their only response has been to offer to sell me another range at 15% off. The electronic control panel seems to be a particular problem, and it has broken repeatedly. I have owned stoves and cooked for about 40 years. I have never had this sort of problem. This is a bad piece of equipment and the company won't stand behind it. An update as of 4/21. I have talked with or been contacted by 2-3 people from Jenn Air. They will pay for "part of" the cost of the parts. They won't replace after six significant service calls because "it's fixed now and there may not be any problem with it again."

Palo Alto - Worst Refrigerator I Ever Owned In My Life - Jennair Side by Side Fridge Model# JCD2289AEB
I built my house 9 yrs ago and at the time purchased all new appliances. I have had good luck with all except this Jenn-Air model JCD2289AEB. AS soon as the warranty was up the ice maker started acting up. I was told by Jenn Air that the warranty was up and I was on my own. After paying over $400.00 to a certified repair man to fix a year passed and the same problem of it either would not stop dispensing ice or the inside freezer door freezing up not allowing ice to come out. To this date all of the shelves have collapsed due to poor plastic supports on inside of fridge breaking. Repair man said these could not be replaced. 2 out of 3 crisper draws have fallen apart. Very very poor quality appliance. What a rip-off! Never again will I purchase another Jenn-Air appliance!

I Wish I'd Never Bought This Refrigerator - Side by Side Refrigerator Model JCD2289AE
I thought by buying a Jenn-Air I would be getting the highest quality appliance out there. This beautiful stainless steel model with all the bells and whistles looks good but isn't worth a bucket of warm spit! As soon as the warranty expired I found myself calling for service at least three times a year. Spoiled food would be the first sign then I'd find out the freezer coils were frozen solid. After a number of visits I found out the problem was the adaptive defrost control board, a little circuit board buried in the guts of the controls. At this point I've learned to replace the board myself as well as how to defrost, unclog and clean up after this piece of junk. Jenn-Air? Never again!!!!

Never Ever Buy Anything Made By Jennair - JennAir Dishwasher
What ever you do please never buy anything made by JennAir or owned by Whirlpool. We have had nothing but trouble and paid a premium price. Service is terrible and nobody cares at all. Unfortunately it seems we have to buy European appliances to get quality. It is a crying shame that you have to make 30-40 phone calls to get something fixed that shouldn't be broken and still nothing happens. Shouldn't $4000.00 worth of appliances last more than 2+ years. It is an outrage!!! The sad thing is nobody gives a crap and just passes the buck onto the next guy. If a JennAir representative with some clout would like to make good of our situation, I commend and welcome you to change or mind. Please!!

We bought so-called "top-of-the-line" Jennair appliances, Jennair Cooktop, Oven and Jennair Range with above Range Microwave only three years ago.
The dishwasher: Has had TWO brand new motors replaced, the entire "electronic panel" (the concealed controls) BRAIN replaced because "the moisture ruins the contacts in the computer brain." Over the last several months (and we're TWO who don't use it as a bigger family would!) the racks have just completely fallen apart AND rusted which puts rust spots on all our dishes and flatware! It's been TWO MONTHS and THREE DIFFERENT people at Maytag Dependability Plus keep telling me "I'm ordering the racks for you today and you'll have them within ten days." I spoke to the FOURTH person today who, just as the previous three, said, "It looks like they entered the request, but no one actually ordered them yet." When I ask, "HOW do we GET someone to order them?" I get, "I wouldn't know what to tell you mam!" It's RIDICULOUS!!!! Our Jennair, bottom freezer refrigerator has had THREE service calls. One, just five months after we got it was to completely replace the generator and the dryer! A technician broke the pull out drawers while trying to "confirm" they didn't work properly from Day One. I waited over two months to get those replacement parts. $500+ in groceries lost while waiting for the correct parts to be ordered and installed! One trip is just to see if you're lying about the repair and THEN they order parts! It takes THREE trips to complete ONE repair! HORRIBLE! Our Jennair Stove and oven have had ALL the switches replaced THREE TIMES now. They "arc" from the wires and posts melting? Then they start to pop really loud while you're cooking. It's not the subtle clicking from the element turning on and off. It's more of a pop like you'd get from an electrical outlet! Dangerous! The racks in the oven never did fit correctly or slide in and out. Those were replaced thankfully. The microwave has had to be uninstalled and reinstalled three different times now. Apparently it leaks! One of the "technician supervisors" actually told us, "Yeah, most of these appliances they sell as high-end are basically crap because when the employees of Maytag heard they were being bought out by Whirlpool, you can imagine what happened at the factory." I said, "No, why would that affect them, it could be a good thing no?" He said, "Honey, I've repaired washers with BRICKS in them. They're all going to lose their jobs and they're screwing up all the assembly and you'd be shocked at some of the s _ _ t I see in these appliances!" I recently found out that none of the employees were laid off. At least that's what Maytag Dependability said...
